The clinical laboratory of this unit was began in 1994. In this lab, tests for hematology, biochemistry, parasitology, urinalysis, serology and microbiology are done.

. Until 2004, flow cytometer experiments were carried out. From 2004, coagulation tests were added to the laboratory. In 2014, 15/252 ambulatory patients were admitted; and 73,264 patients were admitted for hospitalization. For these patients, 494,370 tests were performed. In August 1993, the blood banks of the hospital were established. In this blood bank, all products needed for patients such as platelets, plasma, cryotherapy, washed blood are provided. Along with the rise and development of proprietary products in blood transfusion organization, the blood bank of the unit offers SDP (Single donor platiat) products and irradiated blood and blood products. It is noteworthy that the blood bank of the unit can also give health coverage to thalassemia patients in other provinces. Patients with specific problems in other centers, not able to procure blood, can refer to this center and receive blood and blood products.
